Ten Dollar Budget

Ever since I started to thrift, I seriously struggle to pay regular price for items. A $30 top makes me cringe and my skin crawl. I only shell out cash for gorgeous accessories like my fav watch and shoes (I just can't do used shoes). It was 50% off yellow and green tags at Salvation Army so I walked in with a budget of $10. Yes, ten dollars.

2 sweaters and 2 tops later, my total came to $8. I think I did pretty good!

If you don't thrift, you're missing out! But you can check out my guide to thrifting for tips :)

  1. Amazing! I feel inspired. LOL. Especially because I just spend like 10x that on only 3 things at forever 21.

  4. I repeat: I would only move to the US for Brooklyn and all your beautifully decked and incredibly cheap thrift stores! Eek! Well done, Dara. Great finds.

  5. Thrifting is quite awesome. The treasures are always there, waiting to be found. No matter what you purchase at thrift stores, just make sure you clean them, even shoes and accessories.

You did well with your budget! :)

  10. I don't thrift and I think paying $20+ for a top is crazy lol. Although I really should start thrifting more but I get so discouraged because I NEVER find anything I like. :(

  14. Ok, so you've just become a fashion inspiration for me. I don't understand that urge to spend money(that most don't have but mommy and daddy do) to buy expensive clothes that you will war for one season. Ok, I understand investing in a good pair of jeans, or a classic white shirt, or a pair of nude flats. Something that you will wear this year and next year and is still not out of fashion and in perfect condition. That I understand.
I don't know, I think that are just better ways to use money than to trying to create the perfect outfit for a night out.

    Hugs and kisses!
    Love, Andreea

  17. I know exactly what you mean. I find it very hard to spend that much on a shirt when I know I can get 5-6 shirts similar at a thrift store. I find myself doing that--looking at an item and then saying, "Oh I know I can get that at a thrift store." and I usually do.

    I absolutely love thrifting!

  21. I am a thrift-a-holic. I ONLY spend $10 every Friday because I get an extra 25% off with my receipt from the previous week. Thrifting takes time but it's worth it. You picked some classic pieces.
